I think movies are a common language that contributes to mutual understanding people around the world. Okinawa International Movie Festival, a language which has a theme “Laugh & Peace”, must realize wishes all over the world. In such a meaning I think holding this movie festival is really joyful for a cultural exchange of each country. Japan and China are in near relations more than the actual distance, and there are a lot of common cultural sources in both countries. It is very delightful occurrence for movie critics to deepen the friendship of two countries and to share our pleasure. I wish that the movie festival will deepen friendship and the movie cooperation of the two countries, and create a new platform. I pray sincerely for the success of this movie festival.
